The new Legend IP dome is a great step forward for GE Security into IT world. GE has taken the most feature rich pan tilt zoom camera on the market and expanded its capabilities with a digital IP input. With the expansion of IP based camera systems in the market this is an excellent addition to the GE family. We at KLM Marketing have heard many questions from the field regarding what the benefits are to the Legend IP dome.

Here are the key benefits to this new technology.

1. Can be connected directly to a GE IP solution without the use of any encoder/decoder devices. The device is now built into the camera so the same power supply can be used in the field.

2. The camera can be configured using a web browser either through a cross over cable directly to the camera or over the network from another location on the LAN. This would eliminate the use of an analog controller in a video system if you are using a virtual matrix software package.

3. The Legend dome features MPEG4 compression.

4. The Legend dome has the capability of having both a digital signal and a analog signal at the same time. Here are just a couple of ways this will benefit the customer in the field:

   • A customer can use their existing analog system for redundancy by simply connecting the analog input to their DVR or VCR.

   • The camera comes with a web interface so the customer could record the camera off the analog connection and use the IP connection as a marketing piece that could be placed on their web site to show remote video
